Nearly 200 people packed Winslow Public Hall on Wednesday night
Nearly 200 people packed Winslow Public Hall on Wednesday night (the 11th) to hear David Rogers and Olivia Field, from the No Expressway Group, who talked about the proposed Oxford to Cambridge Expressway and its implications for Aylesbury Vale.
David’s detailed research explored the potential impact of additional housing, freight and car use as well as of the expressway itself. The audience were shocked at the number and magnitude of the junctions on the proposed road, each of which would have dramatic development implications for areas within 4 miles.
Although the precise route of the road has not yet been announced the names of the junctions are already established as South of Bletchley, Calvert and Oakley each of which would themselves become development hubs.
The impression given was that the area between Aylesbury and Buckingham would be transformed by massive housing development and the vastly increased number of vehicle journeys that would follow. The meeting was supported by the Buckinghamshire Expressway Action Group.

Sincere thanks to David Rogers, Olivia Field and to Mary Hunt for making the meeting happen.
