BEAG responds to the England’s Economic Heartland’s Outline Transport Strategy engagement exercise.
There’s much to commend in the Strategy, we argue. The emphases on well-being, on the possibility of a well-funded public transport network, and on digital connectivity are all welcomed.
But England’s Economic Heartland must deliver what central government wants to impose on the area. This will inevitably be highly environmentally damaging.
